- SCO XENIX-NET is a local-area network (LAN) designed specifically to connect
- industry-standard 80286- and 80386-based PCs running SCO XENIX and MS-DOS. It
- is compatible with Microsoft Networks, LAN Manager, and IBM PC LAN software.
- All SCO System V computers connected to the network can act as file, print,
- communications, and processor servers for other SCO System V and DOS systems,
- allowing access to sophisticated software and peripheral devices on UNIX System
- servers. Additionally, all SCO System V users on the network can access any
- MS-DOS on the network. Extended file- and record-locking calls are supported,
- as well as NetBIOS INT5C calls through a C library interface. SCO XENIX-NET can
- be used in conjunction with other LAN transport systems that support NetBIOS
- and SCO XENIX-NET, such as SCO, Novell/Excelan, or Interlan TCP/IP packages.
